School of Nursing and Research (SNSR) is Organizing Visit to Elderly Home on 19th November 2018.

About the Visit :

Elderly care emphasizes the social and personal requirements of senior citizens who need some assistance with daily activities and health care, ‘Respecting and caring for our Elders’ is one of the moral values which is inculcated in the students of nursing

In the light of the same students of 1st year BSC nursing accompanied by teachers, are visiting Old Age Home under the umbrella banner of ‘Joy of Giving Week’ on 19th of November 2018.

Objective of Event:

  • To sensitize students to the predicaments and problems of aged people
  • To become aware of the joy of serving and being with the aged.
  • To wrap students with wonderful experience and opportunity to discover empathy within
  • To provide stimulation and encourage the partaking of elderly in recreational and diversion activities
  • To break the monotony of their lives and present them with different joyful experiences and bring a smile to their faces, and magnificent memory to behold.
  • To gain and witness a lifetime experience and rejuvenate the drooping spirit of Elderly
  • To express our solidarity with the old and desolate

School of Nursing Science & Research,(SNSR) is Organizing “World Diabetes day Celebration(ELOCUTION COMPETITION)” On 19th November 2018.

Theme:- The Family and Diabetes.

World Diabetes Day was launched in 1991 by the IDF and the World Health Organization (WHO) in response to the rapid rise of diabetes around the world. World Diabetes Day is the primary global awareness campaign focusing on diabetes mellitus and is held on 14 November each year. Diabetes can affect the entire family in several ways. In particular, blood relatives should be aware that a family history of Type 2 diabetes puts them at higher risk for developing both Type 2 and pre-diabetes. Early diagnosis and treatment is key for a healthy life with diabetes.

Objective of Event:

  • To reduce family’s risk of diabetes.
  • To aware about risk factors for the development of diabetes and prediabetes
  • To aware about the types of diabetes.
  • To help people to overcome the impact of diabetes.
  • To reduce the incidence of diabetes in the family.

Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering & Technology is organizing an Industrial visit to Delhi Institute of Tool Engineering (Formerly known as Tool Room and Training Centre) Wazirpur, Industrial area, Campus-I, Delhi on 20/11/2018 (Tuesday) of M.Tech Mechanical Engineering Students.

Tool Room & Training Centre (TRTC) at Wazirpur Industrial Area, Delhi and Hi-Tech Vocational Training Centre (HTVTC) at Okhla Industrial Area New Delhi were established, with technical and financial assistance of Government of Denmark and Government of Italy respectively, with the objective of contributing towards the development of industries in and around Delhi through supply of trained manpower, undertaking job work of machining and manufacturing of sophisticated tools. These centers were functioning as independent societies, registered under the societies registration act, 1860 each having separate Governing council and General body of the society.

The objective of Event:

  • To enhance and to give exposure to the master’s students in manufacturing, design for improving employment opportunities.

It gives us great pleasure to announce that School of Law, Sharda University is organizing National Seminar on “Human Rights & Criminal Justice System in India” on Tuesday, 20th November 2018.

In the present scenario this National Seminar on “Human Rights and Criminal Justice System in India” shall provide an opportunity and platform to the legal fraternity to deliberate upon issues and challenges pertaining to the theme of the seminar.

Objective of the Event:

  • To understand the emerging issues in human rights and criminal justice system in India
  • To assess the implications of recent Supreme Court Judgments such as section 377 and 497, IPC, 1860
  • To analyze the role of the judiciary in protecting human rights while administering criminal justice
  • To deliberate upon the possible solutions of issues ailing the Indian criminal justice system
  • To enable the dissemination of ideas on issues relating to human rights and the criminal justice system in India

Expected Outcomes:

  • The seminar will lead to better understanding of issues and challenges pertaining to Human Rights & Criminal Justice System in India.

About the topic:-

Palliative care is specialized medical care for people with serious illness. This type of care is focused on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness. The goal is to improve the quality of life for both the patient and the family.

Palliative care is provided by a specially-trained team of doctors, nurses and other specialists who work together with a patient’s other doctors to provide an extra layer of support. It is appropriate at any age and at any stage in a serious illness, and it can be provided along with curative treatment.

Objective of Event:

  • Improve their knowledge of palliative care and symptom management.
  • Improve their knowledge and appreciation for the spiritual needs of patients with terminal cancer.
  • Improve their cultural sensitivity and appreciate the role of culture in influencing a patient’s experience of dying.
  • Enhance their appreciation for a team approach to patient care, especially for the terminal patient.
  • Appreciate the contribution of all health care professionals to the care of the terminal patient.

“Children’s rights are not special rights, but rather the fundamental rights inherent to human dignity of all people.”-UNICEF.

So, each year to promote international togetherness, children’s welfare and children’s rights Universal Children’s Day is celebrated on 20th November. Department of Public Health Dentistry, School of Dental Sciences is an active participant in all outreach activities will mark the occasion on 20th Nov 2018.

Objectives of the Event:

  • Promoting international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide and improving children’s welfare.
  • To advocate, promote and celebrate children’s rights, translating into dialogues and actions that will build a better world for children

Details of the Event:

  • Department of Public Health Dentistry has taken a small step towards hunger crisis by a small contribution of 4000 rupees to UN through their World Food Programme (WFP) App “ShareTheMeal” wherein minimal contributions can provide meals for children of war-torn and developing countries
  • Adoption of a School (Dhruv Public School) to meet the unmet needs of oral care. Conducting interactive and fun-filled oral health education session, a skit by faculty, On the Spot competitions and distribution of oral hygiene

All Shards are humbly requested to download the “ShareTheMeal” App and contribute to ending hunger crisis across the globe as a single drop counts. Let no child sleep without a meal.

Contributions are as follows:

Mother Dairy, located at Patparganj, New Delhi, is one of the largest liquid milk Plant in Asia. Mother Dairy sells milk and milk products (Milk, cultured products, Ice creams, Paneer and Ghee) at a national level through its sales and distribution networks for marketing food items.
