Workshop on – Environmental Analysis using Computational methods for buildings in Architecture | 4 days x 6 hours | SAP @ Computer lab ,6th floor , block 2
Sep 22 all-day

The School of Architecture and Planning (SAP) is conducting a workshop on ‘Environmental Analysis using Computational methods for buildings in Architecture’ for the B.Arch. 4th year students.

This workshop is planned  on 14th Sep, 15th Sep, 22nd Sep , and 23rd Sep, 2019 (4 days x 6 hours each day  = 24 hours).

This is in line with their current design studio project, which is to explore and speculate upon interpretations of sustainability of built forms in and around architecture.

OBJECTIVE OF THE EVENT:

The specifics of the workshop shall be structured around the simulation techniques ( based on specialized skill sets)  for the three inter-related parameters of an Energy Efficient Building Design, which are as under listed –

  1. Daylight Simulation
  2. Thermal Simulation for Building Materials and Water footprint calculations.
  3. Simulation Basics of BIM technology and techniques to understand Services in a building.

The aim is to teach the participants the concepts of environmental analysis using Do and Learn method. Students would assess various environmental parameters and visualize it. Relevant concepts would be taught along with the analysis workflow.

This is an output based exercise wherein students will arrive on design options as a learning outcome, which are energy efficient and more comfortable to the users. Students would get acquainted with computational tools

ABOUT THE SPEAKER :

Ar. Anurag Biswas is presently working with Environmental Design Solutions as a Building Performance Analyst, and is a LEED AP, GRIHA CP. He holds a Masters in Building Engineering and management, SPA Delhi Bachelor in architecture, IIEST Shibpur

He has expertise in the field of design optimization, energy and daylight analysis and R&D in the field of sustainability. He has keen interest in exploring the use of computational parametric modelling and data analysis in evolving the building design process.

He currently leads the computational Department in EDS Delhi. The contribution by this department has helped EDS being featured along with the global leader in www.ladybug.tools
