70 Students along with four faculty members are going to visit 10 industry including Wockhardt, Abbott, Alkem, Dr.Morepen, Glenmark, Cipla etc.

Design Education is beyond classroom training. With this thought, Department of Digital & Communication Design is conducting a 5-day workshop with 2nd year and 3rd-year students. The workshop will be conducted by Mr. Krishan Ahuja, who is a veteran practicing artist with over 50 years of experience in Painting, Advertising, and Photography. Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, School of Basic Sciences & Research (SBS&R) is going to organize a ‘Hands-on training on ChemSketch & Origin Software” for final year students of B.Sc. and M.Sc. (Chemistry and Biochemistry) on 15th Jan 2019.

About the event

The drawing of chemical formulae/reaction schemes and presenting the experimental results is a repetitive task for chemists on all levels of their education. While hand-sketching and plotting is most efficiently used during discussions and learning, neat drawings and clear graphical representations are required for official reports, publications, and theses. Such drawings and plots can be created with computer software like ChemSketch and Origin respectively.

In this event students will be given training on both of these software through the following modules:

 Module 1 – How to draw the Chemical structures/reaction schemes using “ChemSketch”
Module 2 – How to plot/compare the graphs from a large experimental data using “Origin”

The Department of Life Sciences, School of Basic Sciences & Research (SBSR) is organizing an Industry visit to Yakult Danone India (P) Ltd. for its B.Sc Biotechnology final year students on 16th January 2019.

Yakult Danone India Pvt Ltd manufactured at an ISO 9001:2015, OHSAS 18001:2007 and is HACCP certified factory in Sonepat, Haryana in North India. The factory is designed as per international standards and special care. It is a joint venture of three companies belonging to Japan-France-India respectively.

Yakult is a fermented milk drink that contains over 6.5 billion probiotic bacteria – Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota. A delicious probiotic drink that helps improve digestion due to beneficial bacteria. These bacteria reach the intestine alive and suppress the growth of harmful bacteria. Yakult helps to maintain a healthy balance of good and bad bacteria in the gut. This probiotic drink was launched in India in 2007.

The Factory Visit tour comprises of:

  • Presentation on ‘Science of probiotics’
  • An overview of ‘Manufacturing Process of Yakult’
  • An Interaction Session – Question & Answers
  • Plant Visit

The duration of the session at the factory is approx. 1.5 hrs.

Training Program on Customer Service Excellence for Support Team of IHA @ Old V.C Board Room Old VC Board

Objective of Event:

Education of villagers thorough a rally on “BetiBachao, BetiPadhao” on the occasion of National Girl Child Day Celebrated on 24th of January every year and to deliver knowledge among school girls and their colleagues from nearby villages regarding safe hygiene during menstruation. Also, to encourage and boost the morale of the villagers and young children towards having a girl child as daughters and sisters as they are the pride of the country.

Department of Mathematics and Centre for Advanced Research in Applied Mathematics & Physics (CARAMP), SBSR, Sharda University is organizing an Expository Lecture on “Fractal with Real life Applications by Prof.Rashmi Bharadwaj (Professor, Department of Mathematics, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi). Prof. Rashmi Bharadwaj is a renowned Mathematician. She did her Ph.D. in 1997 from University of Delhi. She has Govt of India IMD award and Young Scientist Award AICTE. She has more than 25 years of research & teaching experience.  She has published 80 research papers, 2 books in reputed Journals. and 1 Proceeding Springer, 10 Ph.D. produced and 8 working. She has established Nonlinear Dynamics Research Lab and Mathematics Lab in GGSIPU.
