Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is organizing a 30-hours workshop on “Introduction to Mobile Robots” from Aug 05, 2019 under Robo_TREEE, technical club of EEE dept. students. The course has been broken into slots and after completing the slots, students will be able to develop mobile robots for real life and entertainment applications. On last day, Obstacle Avoider Robot Competition will be conducted.

Objective:

The objective of the workshop is to impart practical knowledge and to give hand on practice. It is intended for the beginners.

Requirement:

Student group has to bring the Mobile Robot Components and a laptop. Maximum 3 students can be formed as one group. (List of components is available with coordinator)

Registration fee: Rs. 200/ student (Two hundred rupees per student)

Venue and Timing:

The venue for the same is Embedded Systems and Robotics Laboratory of Advanced Instrumentation & Automation Laboratory, Room no. 221, SET Block I. Maximum 3 slots will be conducted in a week and minimum 1 in a week.

Course period: From 5th  Aug, 2019 to 30th Sep, 2019

Days of Workshop in a week: Monday#, Tuesday# and Saturday*

Timings: 4 to 6 PM

International Students’ Affairs & Linkages Cell (ISAL Cell) of School of Business Studies, Sharda University (SU), is having immense pleasure to share a proud moment that two of its students namely – Mr. Emran Sharifi (BBA, 2nd Semester, Syst ID-2018003995) and Ms. Era Poudel (BBA, 2nd Semester, Syst ID-2018013127 ) have recently joined University of Almeria (UAL), Spain under Sharda University’s Student Exchange Programme for a Semester (Sept 2019 – Feb 2020).

Mr. Sharifi and Ms. Poudel are the first students from Afghanistan and Nepal respectively to study at UAL. It is the first time in its history that the University of Almería welcomes students of these nationalities through the Erasmus program.

The general purpose of the Student Exchange Program is to promote international educational and cultural exchange to develop mutual understanding between the people of the different countries.

Objective of Event:

Following are the objectives of the Student Exchange Programme.

Educational

  • International learning and knowledge propel students towards acceptance and understanding of an array of different cultural and community perspectives.
  • Language acquisition is achieved through practical immersion.

School of Architecture and Planning (SAP) is organizing Guest Lecture on Green Building Envelope Design on 13th Sep, 2019.

OBJECTIVE OF THE EVENT :

This lecture shall act as a part of the learning outcomes of the students in their current design studio, where in the intent is to speculate upon the interpretations of sustainability criteria in the built form, with a special focus on the building envelope. This is also being looked as a prospective study for the students in near future wherein they have an opportunity to align their studio design projects with the SDG’S laid out by the United Nations.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER :

Architect Seema Devgan is presently a full time faculty in the University School of Architecture and Planning, GGSIPU, Delhi and teaches subjects like Green Envelope Design, Climatology, HVAC services etc. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree from TVB School of Architecture in 1995, followed by a Master’s degree in Building Science and Construction Management from IIT, Delhi. Her PhD. is from IIT, Delhi in 2009, in ‘Development of OTTV based approach for three tropical climates as an alternative to Prescriptive approach in BUILDING Energy Codes. In her professional career spanning more than 24 years, she has been associated with various colleges of Architecture in the capacity of full time faculty as well as contractual faculty all across the country.

Ar. Seema has also laid out the foundation for many path breaking researches done in the building energy sector in core areas of Building Energy Codes, Efficiency and Building Energy Simulations etc. She has written a lot of research papers and published books with eminent professional in the field.

Some of the events being organized under Hindi Diwas would include Slogan Writing Competition, Poetry Competition, Skit, Cultural Performance and more.

Hindi is the most spoken language of India. Almost 77 per cent of Indians read, write, speak and understand Hindi and have it as an integral part of their lives. The country celebrates September 14 as Hindi Diwas. The first ‘Hindi Diwas’ was officially celebrated on September 14, 1953.

Objectives of Event:

  • The primary objective behind the celebration of Hindi Week is to enhance the reach of Hindi among people and highlight the importance of its presence in our country and lives as the use of English is overtaking that of Hindi to a large extent.

The School of Architecture and Planning (SAP) is conducting a workshop on ‘Environmental Analysis using Computational methods for buildings in Architecture’ for the B.Arch. 4th year students.

This workshop is planned  on 14th Sep, 15th Sep, 22nd Sep , and 23rd Sep, 2019 (4 days x 6 hours each day  = 24 hours).

This is in line with their current design studio project, which is to explore and speculate upon interpretations of sustainability of built forms in and around architecture.

OBJECTIVE OF THE EVENT:

The specifics of the workshop shall be structured around the simulation techniques ( based on specialized skill sets)  for the three inter-related parameters of an Energy Efficient Building Design, which are as under listed –

  1. Daylight Simulation
  2. Thermal Simulation for Building Materials and Water footprint calculations.
  3. Simulation Basics of BIM technology and techniques to understand Services in a building.

The aim is to teach the participants the concepts of environmental analysis using Do and Learn method. Students would assess various environmental parameters and visualize it. Relevant concepts would be taught along with the analysis workflow.

This is an output based exercise wherein students will arrive on design options as a learning outcome, which are energy efficient and more comfortable to the users. Students would get acquainted with computational tools

ABOUT THE SPEAKER :

Ar. Anurag Biswas is presently working with Environmental Design Solutions as a Building Performance Analyst, and is a LEED AP, GRIHA CP. He holds a Masters in Building Engineering and management, SPA Delhi Bachelor in architecture, IIEST Shibpur

He has expertise in the field of design optimization, energy and daylight analysis and R&D in the field of sustainability. He has keen interest in exploring the use of computational parametric modelling and data analysis in evolving the building design process.

He currently leads the computational Department in EDS Delhi. The contribution by this department has helped EDS being featured along with the global leader in www.ladybug.tools

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Architect Aditya Togonatta is a practicing architect in OYO and he specializes in ecological modeling alongside advance fabrications and material systems. He is an M.Arch, EmTech, AA London. He is an expert in softwares like Rhino and Grasshopper.
