School of Humanities and Social Sciences is organizing one week Faculty Development Program on “Fostering Human Values & Professional Ethics from 15th July to 20th July 2019. @ SHSS, Sharda University

This FDP is designed to help develop a conducive environment for ‘Human Values and Professional Ethics’ in the institution, as well as in the community. It is for the purpose of familiarizing participants with Human Values and Professional Ethics and to generate interest in value-based living on the need and significance of universal human values and its implications in professional education for ensuring sustainable development of business and society will be emphasized. The religious and cultural heritage of India is rich in content and subjects of professional ethics and human values. Discourses of Vedas, Puranas, Ramayana and Mahabharata are value based. There seems some erosion in human values. This erosion is posing some challenges before the new generation. It is the duty of academicians to put forward a road map for the betterment of the people through value-based education. This workshop will provide a useful platform for the academicians and teachers to discuss issues directly related to human welfare and nation-building.

Objective of Event:

Human Value & Professional Ethics education facilitates human conduct and the development of humane society. The objective of this FDP is to understand ones purposefulness or goal, both as an individual, as well as a society. This Faculty Development Program would facilitate faculty members to develop right understanding, commitment, competence and practice of living with definite Human conduct and to participate in the development of a humane society.

Sharda University, School of Law is organising a six day Faculty Development Programme from 15th July- 20th July, 2019 on ‘Innovative Teaching Learning Methods and Research in Law’.

This Program shall cater to some of the best minds of legal profession including academicians, judges and other legal luminaries. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for distinguished scholars/ researchers/teachers in India to engage with the young faculty members and share their experiences and perspectives relating to teaching and research. The Expert speakers will discuss intricacies of law teaching and research, while identifying the gaps and suggesting reforms.

Aims and objectives:

  1. To provide understanding about innovative teaching learning methods.
  2. To acquaint faculty with intricacies of law and legal research.
  3. To train and develop law faculty and to upgrade their knowledge and skills which will enable them to prepare syllabus and course module.

1090 Women’s Helpline of UP Police is organizing a 2-hour workshop on Cyber Bullying for female students/staff members.

Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place over digital devices like cell phones, computers, and tablets. Cyberbullying can occur through SMS, Text, and apps, or online in social media, forums, or gaming where people can view, participate in, or share content. Cyberbullying includes sending, posting, or sharing negative, harmful, false, or mean content about someone else. It can include sharing personal or private information about someone else causing embarrassment or humiliation. Some cyberbullying crosses the line into unlawful or criminal behavior.

The event is aimed at raising the awareness level of the students and staff members and also on how to effectively deal with it.

Objective of Event:

The event is aimed at raising the awareness level of female students and staff members against Cyber Bullying and how to effectively deal with it. The event will be conducted in collaboration with the 1090 Women’s helpline of UP Police.

Salient Feature of Rapid Prototyping

FDM Technology

In FDM (Fused deposition modeling) Printers, the modeling material i.e. thermoplastics in the form of plastic filaments is extruded and deposited layer by layer to generate the model. Technology is based on patented Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) process, which manufacturers parts in production grade thermoplastics such as ABSplus, ABS-M30, ABSi, PC, PC-ABS, PPSF, ULTEM 9085, Biocompatible grade- PC-ISO & ABS-M30i, Ultem.

Polyjet Technology

The PolyJet 3D printing is similar to inkjet document printing. But instead of jetting drops of ink onto paper, PolyJet 3D printers jet layers of liquid photopolymer onto a build tray and cure them with UV light. The layers build up one at a time to create a 3D model or prototype.

CTET ( Central Teacher Eligibility Test) is a test conducted by the CBSE to check eligibility of prospective teachers. The test is a national eligibility test applicable all across the country. The rationale for having this test is as under:

  1. It would bring national standards and benchmark of teacher quality in the recruitment process.
  2. It would induce teacher education institutions and students from these institutions to further improve their performance standards.
  3. It would send a positive signal to all stakeholders that the Government lays special emphasis on teacher quality.

 The department of obstetrics and gynecology is organizing  a one day CME, YOUTHCON 2019  on 27/7/2019 on Adolescent Health & menstrual Hygiene. This is planned with a vision to encourage academics and update our existing knowledge and promote interaction amongst the faculty.

It is scheduled to be held on 27th July, Saturday, from 9 am -4 pm. The theme is selected, keeping in mind the much needed adolescent health issues including sex education and contraception, to be addressed before a wider audience.

Menstrual hygiene is a very under evaluated and under spoken topic. We wish to bust myths and taboos associated with this and disseminate education about sanitation methods.
