This is a virtual platform created for budding photographers to showcase and share their talent.
“e-FRAMES Online Photography Competition” is open for students. The date for the final submission of entries is 18th August 2020.

COMPETITION RULES:

# There are 3 THEME of this competition: ‘Gender Equality’, ‘Vocal for Local’, and ‘Surviving Covid19 Crisis’
# Each participant can submit only ONE ENTRY per theme.
# Separate Google form with the same email ID needs to be filled for each theme.
# Photographs can be shot with any digital camera (including Smart Phones).
# Photographs can be shared in.JPEG format only.
# Entries must be original work and by submitting their entries the participant confirms this.
# No Logos / Watermarks / Names / Other Signs of identification should be present on the photograph.
# Entries containing any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, libelous, defamatory,
vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic or profane content or otherwise violate any law shall
be automatically disqualified.
# By submitting an entry for the Competition, each Entrant acknowledges that the Copyright remains that of the photographer. Any photograph used by organizers shall carry the photographer’s credit line. Use may be limited to publication on online/offline platforms.
# Size of Each Digital Photograph cannot be more than 10 MB.
# Basic Image Correction is allowed but ‘Compositing’ or ‘Adding or Deleting Elements’ is not permitted.
# Competition is open only for bonafide students of any school/college/university.
# Age of Participant should be between 16 years to 25 years as on 01/04/2020.
# School of Media, Film, and Entertainment, Sharda University reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and remove any entry that does not comply with the competition requirements, even after the entry is submitted.
# All Decisions of SMFE/SU or its judges shall be final and no negotiation will be entered into.

World Breastfeeding Week

SNSR is going to celebrate world breast feeding week on 19th August 2020 at 12 pm to 01 pm.

World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year in the month of august. It is celebrated to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world.  Increasing breastfeeding to near-universal levels could save more than 800 000 lives every year, the majority being children under 6 months. As nurses, it is important to ensure that you have the knowledge to support breastfeeding mothers, including lactation practices and understanding of the importance of breast milk. Early skin-to-skin contact and breastfeeding are a good start – for baby and for Mom.

Department of OphthalmologySchool of Medical Sciences and Research (SMS&R) is celebrating ‘35th National Eye Donation Fortnight’ from 25th August 2020 to 8th September 2020.

In India 15 million people are blind currently. Out of those people, 6-8 millions are suffering from corneal blindness with vision less than 6/60 in at least one eye. Corneal blindness can be treated by removing the damaged cornea and replacing it with a healthy cornea. Cornea transplant is the only alternative for the corneal blindness.

The objectives of the event are:-

  • To create mass public awareness about the importance of eye donation.
  • To motivate people to pledge their eyes for donation after death.
  • To bridge the gap between demand and supply of cornea for cornea transplant procedure.

World organ donation day is observed on August 13th every year to raise the awareness about the importance of Organ Donation and to motivate people for donating organs after death.

Organ donation is the donation of biological tissue or an organ of the human body, from a living or dead person to a living recipient in need of a transplantation. Transplantable organs and tissues are removed in a surgical procedure following a determination, based on the donor’s medical and social history, of which are suitable for transplantation.

Sharda University, under its focus on working closely with the communities has joined this effort and are helping the women become micro-entrepreneurs. Various members of the faculty are currently working on this project for enabling and mentoring these women.

1) VrukshaVridhi :

  • The saplings should be new.
  • Have to make a normal / time lapse video of minimum 30secs to be shared during planting the sapling.
  • Describe about the plant and its uses in not more than 100 words.
  • Have to share before and after every 7-10 days.
  • Minimum 4 pictures of each saplings in collage form. (Eg: 2 saplings = 2 collages with 4 pictures in each collage).
  • Each pictures should have Geo-tags.
  • Plant should be in good condition which will be shown in the final picture.
  • Results will be based on the maximum number of saplings planted by one individual.
  • Breaking of any of the above rules will result in disqualification.

2) ECO-lution: ( Best out of waste)

  • Creative products to be made out of waste which should be useful in some ways.
  • Only use recycled products and buying of new items are not allowed.
  • Normal/time lapse video of minimum 30secs should be shared during the making of your item.
  • Before and after pictures has to be shared(minimum 2 pictures).
  • Each picture should have Geo-tags.
  • Describe about the item you created,each recycled items used and how it will be useful.
  • Breaking of any of the above rules will result in disqualification.
  • SUBMISSION DATE: Till 30th September2020.
