Objectives of Event:

This lecture will discuss those aspects of urban design which have caused ambiguity among academics and professionals and looks for a definition that addresses these uncertainties. The areas of confusion and ambiguity, are analyzed in seven arenas: the scale of urban fabric which urban design addresses; visual or spatial emphases; spatial or social emphases; the relationship between process and product in city design; the relationship between different professionals and their activities; public or private sector affiliations and design as an objective-rational or subjective-irrational process. This examination will show how to clarify the definition of urban design, its roles and areas of involvement.

The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) is designed by NIESBUD to train and develop faculties in entrepreneurship development so that they can act as resource persons in guiding and motivating youth to take up entrepreneurship as a career. Through FDP, faculty members of educational institutions and Entrepreneurship Development Organizations are trained for a duration of 5 days.

FDP provide inputs on process and practice of entrepreneurship development, communication and inter-personal skills, creativity, problem solving, achievement motivation, resource mapping, support ecosystem and all aspects of entrepreneurship. Training methodology includes case studies, group discussion, simulation exercises, field visits and classroom lectures.

The faculties will be able to understand the concepts of identification/ selection of projects and setting up of enterprise so as to run their business successfully. Indian Handicrafts sector engages more than 7 million craftsperson from all over India and numerous categories of handicrafts, gifts and decorative items are produced in various forms of raw material. The Indian handicrafts have great potentiality of exports in International market. However, professional systems and expertise are required within crafts organisations to be able to connect to mainstream markets in a commercially sustainable manner. Often, craft groups located in rural areas lack such systems and are unable to develop as commercially viable enterprises even when the products they make have commercial potential.

Objectives of Event:
