International Students’ Affairs & Linkages Cell (ISAL Cell) of School of Business Studies, Sharda University (SU), is having immense pleasure to share a proud moment that two of its students namely – Mr. Emran Sharifi (BBA, 2nd Semester, Syst ID-2018003995) and Ms. Era Poudel (BBA, 2nd Semester, Syst ID-2018013127 ) have recently joined University of Almeria (UAL), Spain under Sharda University’s Student Exchange Programme for a Semester (Sept 2019 – Feb 2020).

Mr. Sharifi and Ms. Poudel are the first students from Afghanistan and Nepal respectively to study at UAL. It is the first time in its history that the University of Almería welcomes students of these nationalities through the Erasmus program.

The general purpose of the Student Exchange Program is to promote international educational and cultural exchange to develop mutual understanding between the people of the different countries.

Objective of Event:

Following are the objectives of the Student Exchange Programme.

Educational

  • International learning and knowledge propel students towards acceptance and understanding of an array of different cultural and community perspectives.
  • Language acquisition is achieved through practical immersion.
  • Awareness and adoption of alternative, multi-faceted approaches to learning.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Enhanced interest in global issues as well as a broader general knowledge.

Personal

  • Self-development and awareness leading to enhanced self-confidence and self-esteem. This is often the most noticeable change in returned exchange students.
  • Maturity and social poise fueled by the necessity to confront challenges outside a familiar support network and comfort zone.
  • Integration into another family as well as the development of life-long friendships, fostering an appreciation of home and family.
  • A tremendous sense of accomplishment upon completion encourages students to develop independent opinions, make informed decisions and strive to attain fresh goals.

Remedial English: Students who wish to sharpen their communicative English language skills may enroll in this Student-centric course which caters to students at a pre-Intermediate level that will cover Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing Skills along with strengthening the basic English Grammar.

Sharda University, in association with GNIDA, is organizing a 24-hour hackathon titled “Technovation Hackathon”. This 24-hour event will bring college students from across NCR and nationwide with an aim to come up with innovative solutions for the problems of Greater Noida. The students will be working on any one of the 5 themes and will display their solutions on Jan 26. This will be followed by a prize distribution ceremony at the SMSR Auditorium. With the Purpose to spread awareness in society about the lack of equality girls face as compared to boys, Department of Public Health Dentistry, School of Dental Sciences is celebrating National Girl Child Day on 24’th January from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Salampur Kayast Girls Hostel, Sikandrabad in collaboration with Being Social-एक नई शुरुआत.
In 2008 the Government of India and the Ministry of Women and Child development started National Girl Child Day celebrated on 24th January every year. The main Significance of National Girl Child Day is to spread knowledge about the issues that a girl child is facing in India. Some major issues which still exist in our society are education, nutrition, legal rights, and Safety.

Objectives:

  • To highlight the inequalities faced by girls, to promote awareness including the rights of a girl child, importance of education, health, and nutrition.
  • To raise awareness about gender discrimination.

Details of the event:

An awareness skit on gender sensitization will be performed by the students of BDS Third Year and Interns followed by a care free laado program. Girls will be educated about the importance of menstrual hygiene.

Lamp Lighting Ceremony @ Auditorium-005

School of Nursing Science & Research (SNSR), Sharda University is celebrating ‘Lamp-Lighting Ceremony’ to instill professional ethics to become better future nurses of the 8th batch of B.Sc. Nursing &12th Batch of GNM nursing on 28th January 2020.

Light, as a symbol of knowledge, removes ignorance and is a lasting wealth by which lots could be achieved. The “Lamp Lighting Ceremony” formally recognizes the student’s entry into the nursing profession. This tradition commemorates the heroine of nursing, Florence Nightingale, who was seen in the dark alleys with a lamp while caring for the injured soldiers of the Crimean War. The lamp symbolizes the light that a nurse becomes to her patients and as a symbol of hope and comfort to those who are suffering. Fresher light this lamp as a commitment and they recite the Nurses’ pledge of service.
