Two SBS Students have joined University of Almeria, Spain, under Student Exchange Program (Erasmus Program) for Six months | SBS | Sept 2019 – Feb 2020 @ University of Almeria, Spain

International Students’ Affairs & Linkages Cell (ISAL Cell) of School of Business Studies, Sharda University (SU), is having immense pleasure to share a proud moment that two of its students namely – Mr. Emran Sharifi (BBA, 2nd Semester, Syst ID-2018003995) and Ms. Era Poudel (BBA, 2nd Semester, Syst ID-2018013127 ) have recently joined University of Almeria (UAL), Spain under Sharda University’s Student Exchange Programme for a Semester (Sept 2019 – Feb 2020).

Mr. Sharifi and Ms. Poudel are the first students from Afghanistan and Nepal respectively to study at UAL. It is the first time in its history that the University of Almería welcomes students of these nationalities through the Erasmus program.

The general purpose of the Student Exchange Program is to promote international educational and cultural exchange to develop mutual understanding between the people of the different countries.

Objective of Event:

Following are the objectives of the Student Exchange Programme.

Educational

  • International learning and knowledge propel students towards acceptance and understanding of an array of different cultural and community perspectives.
  • Language acquisition is achieved through practical immersion.
  • Awareness and adoption of alternative, multi-faceted approaches to learning.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Enhanced interest in global issues as well as a broader general knowledge.

Personal

  • Self-development and awareness leading to enhanced self-confidence and self-esteem. This is often the most noticeable change in returned exchange students.
  • Maturity and social poise fueled by the necessity to confront challenges outside a familiar support network and comfort zone.
  • Integration into another family as well as the development of life-long friendships, fostering an appreciation of home and family.
  • A tremendous sense of accomplishment upon completion encourages students to develop independent opinions, make informed decisions and strive to attain fresh goals.

Students of the university may now enroll in the Remedial English, Remedial Hindi Course at SHSS:

Remedial English: Students who wish to sharpen their communicative English language skills may enroll in this Student-centric course which caters to students at a pre-Intermediate level that will cover Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing Skills along with strengthening the basic English Grammar.

Course Detail, Duration, Timings & Fee structure is mentioned below:

Dept. of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, SDS, is conducting Prosthodontist Day on 22nd January 2020. 22nd January is celebrated as the national ‘Prosthodontist Day’ by the Indian Prosthodontic Society (IPS) and Asian Academy of Prosthodontics. The objective of IPS is to spread awareness of increased treatment modalities of tooth replacement.

National Girl Child Day @ Salampur Kayast Girls Hostel

With the Purpose to spread awareness in society about the lack of equality girls face as compared to boys, Department of Public Health Dentistry, School of Dental Sciences is celebrating National Girl Child Day on 24’th January from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Salampur Kayast Girls Hostel, Sikandrabad in collaboration with Being Social-एक नई शुरुआत.
In 2008 the Government of India and the Ministry of Women and Child development started National Girl Child Day celebrated on 24th January every year. The main Significance of National Girl Child Day is to spread knowledge about the issues that a girl child is facing in India. Some major issues which still exist in our society are education, nutrition, legal rights, and Safety.

Objectives:

  • To highlight the inequalities faced by girls, to promote awareness including the rights of a girl child, importance of education, health, and nutrition.
  • To raise awareness about gender discrimination.

Details of the event:

An awareness skit on gender sensitization will be performed by the students of BDS Third Year and Interns followed by a care free laado program. Girls will be educated about the importance of menstrual hygiene.

Apart from it the students who levy to work in product based companies, it will help them in their technical interviews.

Case studies place students in real-life situations, forcing them to identify with the protagonist and come up with solutions to a plausible problem. As such, they turn students into active learners rather than passive receivers, helping them develop problem-solving and decision-making skills.

The Literary & Debating Society, School of Law, Sharda University is organizing The Legal Fiesta 2020- The Legal cum Literary  Fest on 5th & 6th February 2020.

Objectives of Fest:

The fest is aimed at organizing various events for students of Sharda University, irrespective of their streams. Students from all across the University will be participating in the fest while breaking the barriers of their course and thus the name is decided to be the Union Fest.
