Workshop on Basic Electronics Projects” under TSEP| EEE Department_ SET @ 008 Block III, SET

To enhance the practical skill of basic electronics circuits in students, Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering is organizing Workshop on Basic Electronics Projects.
Students will do the practice of testing of electronics components in the initial stage. Then they develop electronics projects like-

a) Automatic Dark Detector
b) ON-OFF Control using IR remote
c) Motion Detector
d) Temperature Indicator and
e) Visitor Counter on the breadboard.

In the final stage, they practice soldering of the projects on general PCB.

The Department of Biotechnology, School of Engineering & Technology (SET) is organizing an Industrial visit to Yakult Danone India (P) Ltd. for the students of M.Tech Biotechnology first year and M.Sc Biotechnology final year on 25th Jan. 2019.

Yakult Danone India Pvt Ltd manufactured at an ISO 9001:2015, OHSAS 18001:2007 and is HACCP certified factory in Sonepat, Haryana in North India. The factory is designed as per international standards and special care.

Yakult is a fermented milk drink that contains over 6.5 billion probiotic bacteria – Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota. A delicious probiotic drink that helps improve digestion due to beneficial bacteria. These bacteria reach the intestine alive and suppress the growth of harmful bacteria. Yakult helps to maintain a healthy balance of good and bad bacteria in the gut. This probiotic drink was launched in India in 2007.

The Factory Visit tour comprises of:

  • Presentation on ‘Science of probiotics’
  • An overview of ‘Manufacturing Process of Yakult’
  • An Interaction Session – Question & Answers
  • Plant Visit

The duration of the session at the factory is approx. 1.5 hrs.

Objective of Event:

  • To give the live exposure to the students about the production processes, packaging & storage, QA-QC, regulation formalities such as certifications of production plant/ products etc. and working culture in an industry environment at one of the leading probiotic industry of the country.

Self Defense Training Seminar for Female students of SET @ Amity University Noida

A one-day seminar on Self-Defense for female students is being organized by Women Security Empowerment cell of UP Police on Jan 25, 2019. This event is being held in cooperation with Pink Belt Mission. Senior officials of UP Police and Pink Belt Mission will address the students. Over 100 students of SET are likely to participate in it.

Objective of Event:

  • The event is aimed at providing the Self-Defense training to female students. A one-day seminar, followed by optional training is being organized by UP Police and Pink Belt Mission for the same.

Through GATE students will get a chance in PSU’s as well as pursuing a higher degree from the renowned institution of India (IIT’s, NIT’s etc).

Apart from it the students who levy to work in product based companies, it will help them in their technical interviews.

The School of Nursing Science & Research (SNSR), Sharda University is celebrating ‘Lamp-Lighting/Oath Taking Ceremony’ (IGNITE) on 25th January 2019.

Lamp-lighting ceremony, an oath taking ceremony by the fresher’s who are entering the nursing profession, is being organized regularly every year. This tradition commemorates the heroine of nursing, Florence Nightingale, who was seen in the dark alleys with a lamp while caring for the injured soldiers of the Crimean War. The lamp symbolizes the light that a nurse becomes to her patients and as a symbol of hope and comfort to those who are suffering. Fresher light this lamp as a commitment and they recite the Nursing pledge of service.

Abstract:

Unlike photography where images are acquired directly, medical image acquisition methods such as CT (Computed Tomography) and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) do not acquire the images directly.   CT records attenuation in X-rays incident on the sample from different directions.  MRI records radio frequency signals under various conditions.  The CT/MRI images are reconstructed from the acquired data by sophisticated computerized reconstruction methods.  These methods employ several mathematical concepts including Radon Transform and Fourier Transform.

Sharda University, in association with GNIDA, is organizing a 24-hour hackathon titled “Technovation Hackathon”. This 24-hour event will bring college students from across NCR with an aim to come up with innovative solutions for the problems of Greater Noida. The students will be working on any one of the 4 event themes and will display their solutions on Jan 27. This will be followed by a prize distribution ceremony at the SMSR Auditorium. Rules:

  • The minimum number of members in a contingent shall be 8 and the maximum number of members shall be 20.
  • Each contingent can choose a state/ country/theme to represent. The theme can be based on a socially relevant issue.
  • In case if a contingent chooses a state/country, every member of the contingent shall be dressed in the ethnic costume of the chosen region.
  • Each contingent will be given 3-4 min to showcase their culture/theme in the designated area.
  • The contingent present at the rehearsal (costume not necessary) will only be allowed to take part in the final parade.
  • Every contingent shall follow the route laid down for the parade and other instructions given by the parade management team.

NOTE –
A CONTINGENT CAN Be Formed OF STUDENTS OF THE SAME SCHOOL OR STUDENTS FROM DIFFERENT SCHOOLS.
All the expenses for the contingent shall be borne by the team themselves.

The best contingent will be judged on the following criteria:

Textile is a major area of work currently to make sustainability affordable & feasible for everyday life. The workshop aims to cover Society-Centred & Essentialism Teaching philosophies & and work towards aligning students towards this urgent social need.
