International Students’ Affairs & Linkages Cell (ISAL Cell) of School of Business Studies, Sharda University (SU), is having immense pleasure to share a proud moment that two of its students namely – Mr. Emran Sharifi (BBA, 2nd Semester, Syst ID-2018003995) and Ms. Era Poudel (BBA, 2nd Semester, Syst ID-2018013127 ) have recently joined University of Almeria (UAL), Spain under Sharda University’s Student Exchange Programme for a Semester (Sept 2019 – Feb 2020).

Mr. Sharifi and Ms. Poudel are the first students from Afghanistan and Nepal respectively to study at UAL. It is the first time in its history that the University of Almería welcomes students of these nationalities through the Erasmus program.

The general purpose of the Student Exchange Program is to promote international educational and cultural exchange to develop mutual understanding between the people of the different countries.

Objective of Event:

Following are the objectives of the Student Exchange Programme.

Educational

  • International learning and knowledge propel students towards acceptance and understanding of an array of different cultural and community perspectives.
  • Language acquisition is achieved through practical immersion.
  • Awareness and adoption of alternative, multi-faceted approaches to learning.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Enhanced interest in global issues as well as a broader general knowledge.

Personal

  • Self-development and awareness leading to enhanced self-confidence and self-esteem. This is often the most noticeable change in returned exchange students.

Department of Design is conducting off-campus classes as educational workshops, commonly known as RSP (Related Study Program). from 21st December to 27th December 2019. We are planning RSP s with various centers and institutes across the country and abroad.

These programs will also enhance our admissions and will be part of our efforts to deliver educations and skillsets.

Department of Design in an attempt to help and motivate students gaining the real-world experience of the age-old crafts and rich culture and heritage of India is taking an initiative in form of RSP to impart its students with the understanding and skills involved in the multitudinous Indian craft tradition.

This project will help in building on the synergies of sustained interaction with craft communities in all corners of the country.

“Developing Winning Research Project Proposals: Focusing Digital Solutions in Agriculture and Food Systems" – A two-day workshop”

Preparation and submission of project proposals to funding agencies is one of the most important
activities of a faculty in a university. Faculty are expected to handle at least one funded project at any
given time so that healthy research development of the faculty, Department, School and the
University takes place. Careful preparation of a project proposal is one of the clinching factors in the
success of the proposal. To enhance this activity, we have invited a Dr. S. K. Soam, to impart hands-
on training to faculty using an innovative software, Dr, S.K Soam (see the profile given below) is an
expert trainer on project proposal writing. He has conducted several workshops and written manuals
on this topic. Dr, S.K Soam has kindly agreed to be with us for two days. The training program is
aimed at young and middle level faculty, Maximum number of vacancies are 45 (forty five). Since
vacancies are limited we encourage faculty to enroll as soon as possible.

3. Faculty must bring laptops to practice and prepare a draft project proposal.
4. It is compulsory for the entire faculty who applied for seed-fund-3 to register
5. To dissuade faculty who register but do not attend, a registration fee is Rs.1000/- (Rs. one
thousand only; by AC payee check, in the name of Sharda University) is levied. The amount is
Returnable to faculty who attend all the sessions and successfully complete the workshop. Please,
handover the crossed cheque given in the name of Sharda University to Mr. Aryan after registration.

Dr. S.K. Soam
Dr. Soam joined ICAR in 1993 and is serving at National Research Centre for Sorghum, Hyderabad,
and Indian Grass and Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi. At present, he is the director of he joined
NAARM as Senior Scientist and later has been promoted to the position of Principal Scientist. He has
been trained in International Agricultural research at the International Center for development oriented
Research in Agriculture (ICRA), Wageningen, The Netherlands, and at the Henry Doubleday
Research Association (HDRA), Coventry, U.K. He underwent special training on International Trade
and Intellectual Property System at the World Trade Institute, Bern, Switzerland.

About CSI SPC:

CSI Student Project Contest is instituted to encourage and promote student community for innovative ideas and award them for creative solutions.

Eligibility:

Students from any discipline (B Tech, M Tech, BCA, MCA, BBA, MBA) can submit their nominations for their own original projects in the areas of research, academics, IT applications and services to bring improvement in service, support, and training in the field of Information Technology. Any individual or a team of a maximum of 3 members can submit nominations.Proposal Submission Nominations to be submitted through email (secretary.csigzb@gmail.com) in pdf format typed on A4 (single space, 11pt Times New Roman font, Title in 14pt Bold Capital Centered, Author affiliation 12pt centered, at least 1-inch margin in all sides. Page limit including figures and tables is 3 pages (excluding title & author details). The proposal must clearly mention (i) Objective of the work, (ii) Methodology (iii) Results, and (iv) Contribution to the society/ organization.

Mark Email subject as “Entry for CSI SPC”. Clearly mention the name of all team members, CSI membership number (If applicable) and Paytm payment amount and reference id.

Shortlisted nominations shall be called for in-person presentations on 4th January 2020 at Greater Noida (Sharda University).

Winners will have an opportunity to share their ideas with prospective investors.

School of Architecture and Planning (SAP) is organizing a Guest Lecture on Parametric Design by SUBHARTHI GUHA. The title of the lecture is “Beyond the Rationale”.

Mr.Guha is an Architect and Urban Planner, with an experience of design across 15 countries and over 30 projects. He founded the innovative practice concept SG in 2006 and works as a Lead Designer at Zaha Hadid Architects. The lecture will be followed by an interaction with the audience.

Objectives of Event:

The lecture shall give insights to the students on how an internationally acclaimed practice like Zaha Hadid Architects, helped taking parametric design beyond its experimental roots to make an impact on a larger scale encompassing all design disciplines from architecture to urban design and to fashion. Mr. Guha will share his experience on winning and completing large scale projects worldwide.

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India in November 2014 has approved a “Scheme of Financial Assistance for setting up of Electronics and ICT Academies” over a period of 5 years for faculty/mentor development and enhanced employability of the students in various streams. As per the scheme approval Seven (07), Electronics and ICT Academies have been set up and NIT Patna is one of them.
