Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) take the lives of 17.9 million people every year, 31% of all global deaths.Ischemic heart disease and stroke are the predominant causes and are responsible for >80% of CVD deaths.

Myocardial infarction is one of the most dramatic presentations of coronary artery disease. It is usually caused by blockage of a coronary artery producing tissue death. The incidence of MI in India is 64.37/1000 people in men aged 29-69 years, alcohol intake led to 30% lower CHD incidence.

Heart attack is common and remains a major cause of death and ill health. Prompt appropriate treatment reduces the likelihood of death and recurrent heart attack. Specialist treatment, combined with cardiac rehabilitation, leads to better outcomes and optimal quality of life

commemorate “हिंदी दिवस”. The Constituent Assembly of India had espoused Hindi as India’s official
language on 14th September,1949. To show its significance and to celebrate its mark of
acknowledgement, we commemorate “Hindi Diwas” on September 14th every year. Hindi is one of the
two languages of the Union Government which is written in Devanagri script and other language is
English. It is one of the 22 languages of the Republic of India.

To mark Gandhi Jayanti, a painting/sketching competition has been organized by the Department of History, SHSS, Sharda University. It is an attempt to rekindle the thoughts and works of our beloved Father of the Nation.
Any student of Bachelors or post graduate across Indian Universities can participate in this event. The event is on virtual mode.
