Journal Club Activity | Department of Mathematics & CARAMP (SBSR) | Organizing an Invited Lecture on “Vector Order and Set Order: Vector Optimization and Set Optimization” by Prof. Q. H. Ansari | 29th March 2019. @ BIC Board room, Block-1
Mar 29 @ 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Department of Mathematics and Centre for Advanced Research in Applied Mathematics & Physics (CARAMP), SBSR,  Sharda University is organizing an expert lecture on “Vector Order and Set Order: Vector Optimization and Set Optimization by Prof. Q. H. Ansari (Department of Mathematics Aligarh Muslim University). He did his Ph. D. from AMU, Aligarh. He has published more than 215 research papers in national and international reputed journals. He guided more than 4 Ph. D students and many M.Phil. student. He published many books and editor of many books.

Abstract:

In this talk we shall discuss the vector optimization problems, also known as multi-objective problems. We shall see how a convex cone generates an ordering on a topological vector space? Such ordering helps us to deal with vector optimization problems. We shall also consider the set orders on the set of subsets of a topological vector space. By using these set order relations, we shall discuss set optimization problems and their solutions. A brief introduction to oriented distance function will be given. By using oriented distance function, we shall give some characterizations of set order relations.

We shall also discuss some real life problems which can be written in the form of Vector optimization or set optimization.

Objective:

To create interest in advanced research and promote interdisciplinary and innovative research.

The session is open for all PG students and faculty members.
