The Department of Public Health Dentistry, School of Dental Sciences and IQAC Sharda University in collaboration with Global Institute of  Intellectual Property is organizing a One Week FDP  on “Intellectual Property Rights”, for the teaching faculty of Sharda University from 30th June to 7 th July2020.

Objective of the Event:

  1. To sensitize the faculty of Sharda University (SU) on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
  2. To educate the faculty of SU regarding:
  • IPR related to Books, Monographs, Proceedings, Library etc.
  • The patent drafting process.
  1. To promote further patent submissions by the faculty on behalf of SU.

  • Dr V.P.S Arora , Distinguished Professor &Director, IQAC and Former Vice Chancellor, Kumaun University, Nainital
  • R. Saha, Advisor at Global Institute of Intellectual Property and Senior Advisor CII. He is a former UN consultant and has headed the Science and Society division of DST, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) authority and the Patent Facilitating Centre (PFC) set up by DST at the Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC). He has published 117 issues of monthly bulletin on IPR since 1995 and under his able guidance, PFC has filed more than 700 patents in India and abroad on behalf of academic institutes and other government R&D institutes, which included IPR applications (about 300 patent applications) of the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
  • Subhadip Sarkar, Assistant Vice President at Cognizant.His current responsibilities include establishing and driving IP and technology licensing strategies and implementing various IP practices across the Company.
  • Deepa Kachroo Tiku, Partner at K&S Partners, registered patent agent with the Indian Patent Office and an attorney at law. She has been practicing in the field of patent law for more than 15 years with an added experience of about seven years of working in the industry as well as on the research end. She is a named inventor in total of 21 granted patents worldwide and has several publications and articles to her credit.:

There is a need to adopt Alternate Dispute Resolution mechanism for the benefit of the society at large. Family Dispute Resolution Clinic shall provide counseling; Specialist family dispute resolution services at no cost to achieve the best possible outcomes for the victim. This clinic shall be looked after by following faculty./Research Scholars.
