School of Education, Sharda University is conducting a Five-Day online FDP on ‘Designing and Process of Writing Research Papers in High Quality Scopus Indexed International Journals.’ on 7th – 11th December 2020.

Writing a research paper may appear daunting and remain unfinished for months. The task of writing is not as stressful as it seems. This workshop on research paper writing will make the entire process of writing an interesting and a rewarding experience. This workshop will help you to communicate your ideas in an organized manner acceptable by the academic fraternity.
A great deal of value is involved to publish a high-quality research paper. Besides PhD, small scale research projects can be taken up to produce scientific research papers. Ph.D. research scholars are required to publish minimum of 2 research papers in refereed journals before the submission of the thesis. Some of the UG/PG students are also interested in publishing the papers to get the financial assistance for doing masters/Ph.D. in foreign countries. A substantive research effort is involved in writing a research paper by a large number of researchers and by industry experts. However, several researchers do not know how to write a research paper with the result that a large number of papers are being rejected by the peer reviewed quality journals. Writing a research paper is an art as well as a sophisticated knowledge-based skill. Very few among the academia understand the finer nuances involved in writing a research paper which is publishable in a high-quality refereed journal. This workshop is expected to fill up this gap to some extent.

To gain an appreciation of what quality means in the context of academic writing;

About the Event:

Human Rights Day is celebrated annually across the world on 10th December every year. The date was chosen to honour the United Nations( UN) General Assembly’s adoption and proclamation, on 10 December 1948, of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The UDHR is a milestone document that proclaims the inalienable rights which everyone is entitled to as a human being – regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Available in more than 500 languages, it is the most translated document in the world.

UN’s 2020 Theme for Human Rights Day: Recover Better – Stand Up for Human Rights. UN aims to engage the general public, its partners and the UN family to bolster transformative action and showcase practical and inspirational examples that can contribute to recovering better and fostering more resilient and just societies.

MDP Cell of School of Business Studies, Sharda University, is organizing a Management Development Programme (MDP), spread over a duration of six months, in the area of ‘Coaching for Performance‘  for the organization named ‘Prestige Ice Cream Pvt. Limited’, Kolkata, West Bengal (Brand Rollick, Fragola, Vida). This MDP will be conducted during December 2020 to  June 2021 (Twice a month, 3 days at a time).

Soft skills are required to be successful in a competitive workplace today. Effective soft skills are essential for students to face placement-oriented events successfully. Most students develop a good command of their subject matters but find it difficult to communicate with the audience or seniors and consequently fail to achieve what they deserve. Parallel efforts on soft skill development enable the students to communicate and deal effectively in their professional and personal life.
The webinar shall enable the students to learn the required soft skills to improve their patterns of communications and deal with the audience. The quality of interpersonal relationships among team members depends on the level of good communication and soft skills of an individual. Developing a learning mindset, encouraging self-reflection, understanding communication technologies, and using feedback are some of the major steps of soft-skills development. The webinar focuses on developing high performers by motivating them to develop soft-skills.

Education enables the students to enter into a particular occupation of their aptitude and interest. Once they are in their right field they are expected to excel with the required level of satisfaction. However, the majority of the students do not use psychometric testing for their identification of their job aptitude and remain puzzled in the selection of the rewarding career.

Career counseling is a process to facilitate the students understanding their strengths and characteristics of various careers so as to decide the best match between the two. Here, the role of experts in career counseling becomes relevant who facilitate the students to analyze the job spectrum and their own skills. Career counselor guides the students about gap between required skills or qualifications for a particular field of placement. Career counselor shares thetrends going in Indian job market among students helping them to prepare accordingly. Government sector is open for students through different kinds of civil examinations. Counselors provide the strategies to prepare for such central or state examinations.
