International Students’ Affairs & Linkages Cell (ISAL Cell) of School of Business Studies, Sharda University (SU), is having immense pleasure to share a proud moment that two of its students namely – Mr. Emran Sharifi (BBA, 2nd Semester, Syst ID-2018003995) and Ms. Era Poudel (BBA, 2nd Semester, Syst ID-2018013127 ) have recently joined University of Almeria (UAL), Spain under Sharda University’s Student Exchange Programme for a Semester (Sept 2019 – Feb 2020).

Mr. Sharifi and Ms. Poudel are the first students from Afghanistan and Nepal respectively to study at UAL. It is the first time in its history that the University of Almería welcomes students of these nationalities through the Erasmus program.

The general purpose of the Student Exchange Program is to promote international educational and cultural exchange to develop mutual understanding between the people of the different countries.

Objective of Event:

Following are the objectives of the Student Exchange Programme.

Educational

  • International learning and knowledge propel students towards acceptance and understanding of an array of different cultural and community perspectives.
  • Language acquisition is achieved through practical immersion.
  • Awareness and adoption of alternative, multi-faceted approaches to learning.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Enhanced interest in global issues as well as a broader general knowledge.

Personal

  • Self-development and awareness leading to enhanced self-confidence and self-esteem. This is often the most noticeable change in returned exchange students.

  • Integration into another family as well as the development of life-long friendships, fostering an appreciation of home and family.

The Workshop is specially designed for HR professionals, keeping in mind two kinds of learners – those who have very little functional knowledge of Excel and those who use Excel regularly and wish to enhance their skills.

Department of Mathematics and Centre for Advanced Research in Applied Mathematics & Physics (CARAMP), SBSR, Sharda University is organizing an invited lecture on “Fundamental particles and their interactions ” by Prof. S.K. Singh (Senior Adviser, Innovation Council, and University Incubation Centre, Aligarh Muslim University).

Prof. S.K. Singh did his Ph. D. in 1972 from Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh (U.S.A.). He has more than 4 decades of teaching and research experience and served his services in the department of Physics, AMU, Aligarh. He has published more than 160 research papers in national and international journals.

He has vast administrative and planning experience as Member UGC committee for sanctioning grants to the Central Universities etc.

Abstract:

The human quest of knowledge in understanding the universe and the various physical phenomenon occurring in nature has led to the discovery of fundamental particles and their interactions. The story starting from the stars and the planetary systems around them to the smallest constituents of matter i.e. leptons and quarks and the efforts to arrive at their narrative would be explained in simple language. The fundamental interactions between leptons and quarks and efforts to find a theory of unified interactions and their present status would be briefly presented. The intriguing aspects of the God particle and the ghost particles the subjects of current interest in this field of research activities will be introduced.

Objective:

  • To create interest in advanced research and promote interdisciplinary and innovative research.
  • The session is open for all PG students, research scholars and faculty members of the Mathematics and Physics department.

Hands-on activities enhance the learning process of the learners and students are able to comprehend and apply knowledge better after participating in workshops. They also develop new behavior and socialization skills. A two-day workshop on Art as a medium of Constructive Pedagogy is being organized for students of B.Ed. on 14 November and 15 November 2019 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
