Vishwakarma Jayanti is a day of celebration for lord Vishwakarma, a Hindu god, the divine architect.

As per the tradition of the university “Vishwakarma Day” is being celebrated on 17th September 2019 by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering & Technology. Puja and Hawan is being organized for worshiping the God on 17th September 2019.

Joint Activity of Technical Society and NSS: Blood Donation Campaign on 10th October,2019 @ Sharda University

School of Engineering and Technology, Sharda University in association with Rotary Club is organising a Blood Donation Campaign on 10th of October, 2019.

You are eligible to donate blood if you are in good health, weight at least 50 kg and are 17 years or older.

The blood bank shall provide the following facilities:

To ensure that the requisite permission to hold such camp is available with the blood bank.

  • Donor card (valid for one year ) along with blood test report, if possible
  • Blood test report (within 15 days of the camp), if possible.
  • Certificates to the volunteers assisting in organising the camp
  • One fruity, one snack to the donor

The Cultural Activities Club of School of Business Studies, Sharda University is organizing a cross cultural activityREJOICE 3D (DISH, DRESS & DANCE) on 16th October 2019 in the Auditorium of Block-07, Sharda University.

We know well, that culture is not determined by geographical or political demarcations. Cultural variables showcase a kind of group culture phenomenon.This activity intends to promote enduring & dynamic cross cultural cordiality with ethnic diversity.

The participants will showcase their cultural ethnicity & richness through Dress, Dish & Dance of their country. Indian Students are required to present the cultural richness of their respective states.

Each activity will be given I, II & III prizes separately. Further, There will be an overall CASH PRIZE for the topper team. Certificate of Appreciation will be awarded to all the participants.

The event intends to:

  • Promote enduring & dynamic cross cultural cordiality with diverse ethnic unity

Diwali Celebration

Diwali festival of lights represents the symbolic victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance and good over evil. Rangoli is an auspicious activity and the first step towards celebrating the festival of lights Deepavali. It works as a symbol of prosperity, beauty, and good luck.

On the eve of Diwali SOE is organizing Rangoli Making and Diya Decoration Competition on 23 October 2019, ground floor, block 4

Rules for Rangoli Competition

  • Group Event
  • Each group should comprise of 3 members.
  • You have to bring your own material
  • Participants need to bring all the required materials for Rangoli making themselves.
  • Participants may use rangoli colours,  colored rice, dry flour, colored sand or flower petals etc.
  • No use of mobile / reference material .
  • Timings of the event will be from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm

Judging Criteria: Judging will be based on the following Criteria-

  •     Theme
  •     Neatness in Design
  •     Color combination
  •     Creativity and Innovation
  •     Overall appeal

Rules for Diya Decoration 

  • Individual Event
  • Participant has to bring their own material
  • No use of mobile / reference material.

Cultural Activity Club of School of Business Studies, Sharda University, is organizing International Mother Language Day celebration on 21st February 2020.

International Mother Language Day is celebrated every year on 21st February. The main purpose of celebrating this day is to promote the awareness of language and cultural diversity all across the world. It was first announced by UNESCO on November 17, 1999. Since then it is being celebrated every year.

Objectives of the Event:

  1. To understand and draw attention to the diversity of cultures
  2. To highlight the linguistic diversity of the country.
  3. To encourage the learning of languages other than one’s own mother tongue.

Cultural Activity Club, School of Business Studies, Sharda University, is organizing “Rang Barse – Holi Utsav” on 4th March 2020.

One of the major festivals of India, Holi is celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety on the full moon day in the month of Phalgun which is the month of March as per the Gregorian calendar. Holi is called the festival of colors because the main event is a color-filled celebration. Holi is popularly known as the Indian ‘festival of spring’ and the ‘festival of colours’. The festival signifies the arrival of spring, the end of winter,  also celebrates the beginning of a good spring harvest season. Holi festival may be celebrated with various names and people of different states might be following different traditions. But, what makes Holi so unique and special is the spirit of it which remains the same throughout the country and even across the globe, wherever it is celebrated.

Objectives of Event:

  • To encourage the feeling of brotherhood in society.
  • To strengthen the secular fabric of the nation.
  • To celebrate the victory of good over evil and also the triumph of devotion to god.
