“Developing Winning Research Project Proposals: Focusing Digital Solutions in Agriculture and Food Systems" – A two-day workshop”
Preparation and submission of project proposals to funding agencies is one of the most important
activities of a faculty in a university. Faculty are expected to handle at least one funded project at any
given time so that healthy research development of the faculty, Department, School and the
University takes place. Careful preparation of a project proposal is one of the clinching factors in the
success of the proposal. To enhance this activity, we have invited a Dr. S. K. Soam, to impart hands-
on training to faculty using an innovative software, Dr, S.K Soam (see the profile given below) is an
expert trainer on project proposal writing. He has conducted several workshops and written manuals
on this topic. Dr, S.K Soam has kindly agreed to be with us for two days. The training program is
aimed at young and middle level faculty, Maximum number of vacancies are 45 (forty five). Since
vacancies are limited we encourage faculty to enroll as soon as possible.

2. Last date: 23-12-2019 (Monday) 5.00 PM (online application will close when 50 faculty register; last
5 will be waitlisted)
3. Faculty must bring laptops to practice and prepare a draft project proposal.
4. It is compulsory for the entire faculty who applied for seed-fund-3 to register
5. To dissuade faculty who register but do not attend, a registration fee is Rs.1000/- (Rs. one
thousand only; by AC payee check, in the name of Sharda University) is levied. The amount is
Returnable to faculty who attend all the sessions and successfully complete the workshop. Please,

Dr. S.K. Soam
Dr. Soam joined ICAR in 1993 and is serving at National Research Centre for Sorghum, Hyderabad,
and Indian Grass and Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi. At present, he is the director of he joined
NAARM as Senior Scientist and later has been promoted to the position of Principal Scientist. He has
been trained in International Agricultural research at the International Center for development oriented
Research in Agriculture (ICRA), Wageningen, The Netherlands, and at the Henry Doubleday
Research Association (HDRA), Coventry, U.K. He underwent special training on International Trade
and Intellectual Property System at the World Trade Institute, Bern, Switzerland.

The event shall take place on 26th February 2020, from 10 A.M. at the Auditorium, Block-3, Sharda University, Greater Noida.
The event brings the Head & Co-founder, Sunrise Learning Centre for Autism & Special Needs, Noida, Dr. Sonali Kataria, to be the keynote speaker of the symposium. She has been a TedX Speaker, Ex-Consultant AIIMS and an eminent personality in the field of medical care for differently-abled children. Other eminent speakers include, Dr. Sukhdeep Singh, HoD, Department of Paediatric Dentistry, Dr. Sujaya Mukhopadhyay, Asstt. Professor, Department of Paediatrics, School of Medical Sciences & Research, Sharda University and Prof. Pauline Sharmila, Dean, School of Nursing & Research, Sharda University.
