Department of Operations and IT, School of Business Studies (SBS) is organizing a seminar on ‘Supply Chain Management’ on March 21, 2017.

Objective:

During the last couple of decades corporations and organizations are rapidly moving away from control and ownership to collaboration and relationship management. Independent and even competing entities are collaborating to create value and customer satisfaction. Organizations are focusing on own core competence and aligning others in the chain of value creation as part of Supply Chain Management functions. The competitive edge is achieved in the realm of Supply Chain Management. We have a world class lean Supply Chain Management by Toyota and another lean and agile Supply Chain Management system by DELL Computers. These developments are opening up new vistas of entrepreneurship and professional opportunities for the management and engineering professionals.
School of Business Studies, Sharda University has launched elective subjects in SCM.

Seminar On Supply Chain Management:

Gone are the days when individual firms competed with each-other for market share and dominance. Rather, groups of companies called supply chains compete with each-other. Now this paradigm shift in the strategy for market dominance has created new challenges and opportunities in terms of employment, managerial tools and techniques and research. With this change in the firms’ competitive strategy, new employment opportunities for students of management and business have emerged in great numbers in this area.

The seminar intends to create awareness about the scope of SCM among the management students by first-hand accounts of experiences from vastly experienced SCM practitioners from reputed government and private organizations. This will encourage our students to opt for SCM as a career and encourage them to acquire the required skills for the same.
