            Department of Periodontology, School of Dental Sciences, Sharda University  is Celbrating Oral Hygeine Day (OHD) on 1 August  2026. to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. G.B. Shankwalkar, founder of the Indian Society of Periodontology. It will be a week long celebration.

Objectives of Event

1.To increase public awareness regarding the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene for the prevention of  periodontal diseases, and other oral health problems.

2. To educate individuals on proper oral hygiene practices, including effective tooth brushing techniques, interdental cleaning, and the appropriate use of oral hygiene aids.

3. To promote the concept of preventive dentistry through regular dental check-ups, early diagnosis, and timely intervention.

4. To motivate children, adolescents, and adults to adopt lifelong oral hygiene habits through interactive educational activities, demonstrations, and awareness campaigns.

 

5.To reinforce the importance of periodontal health as the foundation of healthy teeth and a healthy smile, thereby improving the overall quality of life.
