Overview
The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed the landscape of nursing research by enhancing literature searching, data analysis, scientific writing, and evidence synthesis. While these innovations have accelerated research productivity, they have also introduced new challenges related to research integrity, including AI-assisted plagiarism, fabricated or manipulated data, image falsification, paper mills, predatory publishing, fake peer review, and increasing numbers of article retractions. These issues threaten the credibility of scientific evidence, compromise patient care, and erode public trust in research.
Maintaining research integrity requires more than adherence to ethical guidelines; it demands the ability to critically evaluate research, recognize indicators of misconduct, responsibly use AI tools, and implement transparent and reproducible research practices. Nursing educators and researchers play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of responsible research and mentoring future professionals in ethical scholarship.
This five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) is designed to equip nursing faculty, researchers, postgraduate scholars, and academic leaders with the knowledge and practical competencies required to identify research misconduct, evaluate the credibility of scientific publications, responsibly integrate AI into research workflows, and promote transparency, reproducibility, and ethical publishing practices. Through expert lectures, interactive discussions, hands-on workshops, and real-world case studies, participants will develop the skills needed to safeguard the integrity and quality of nursing research in the AI era.

Objectives of Event
At the end of the FDP, participants will be able to:
- Explain the principles and importance of research integrity in nursing research.
- Differentiate between responsible research practices, research misconduct, and questionable research practices.
- Identify common forms of scientific misconduct, including fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, image manipulation, and data fabrication.
- Critically appraise scientific literature and recognize warning signs of retractions, predatory journals, paper mills, and fake peer review.
- Apply international publication ethics and reporting standards in research and scientific publishing.
- Use artificial intelligence responsibly and ethically throughout the research and publication process.
- Promote transparency, reproducibility, and responsible data management in nursing research.
- Develop strategies to strengthen institutional research integrity and foster ethical research culture.
