Dear All,

The School of Pharmacy, Sharda University is organizing the 6th National Pharmacovigilance Week 2026 from 21st to 23rd September 2026 to promote awareness and understanding of pharmacovigilance, rational use of medicines, and the importance of identifying, reporting, and preventing Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs).

 

The three-day programme is designed as an engaging and educational platform for students to strengthen their knowledge of drug safety, ADR identification, medication safety, pharmacovigilance practices, and digital tools used in pharmacovigilance through interactive activities, competitions, and hands-on training.

 

·    EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

·        Quiz Competition
A knowledge-based quiz focusing on pharmacovigilance, drug safety, ADRs, and rational use of medicines. The activity aims to encourage students to apply their theoretical knowledge in an interactive and competitive environment.

·        Poster Competition
Students will showcase their creativity and scientific understanding through informative posters based on pharmacovigilance, ADR prevention, medication safety, and rational medicine use.

·        Identify the Drug
An interactive activity designed to assess students' ability to identify medicines based on pharmacological characteristics, indications, therapeutic uses, or other relevant clues.

·        ADR Detective
A case-based activity in which students will investigate clinical clues to identify suspected Adverse Drug Reactions and demonstrate their understanding of ADR recognition, assessment, and reporting.

·       Pharmacovigilance Software Training
A dedicated hands-on training session will introduce students to software and digital tools used for pharmacovigilance and ADR data management. The session will provide practical exposure to concepts such as ADR case entry, data documentation, case processing, safety information management, and the role of technology in modern pharmacovigilance systems. This component aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in drug-safety practice.

 

Objectives of Event

  • ·       To create awareness regarding the importance of pharmacovigilance and drug safety.

    ·       To strengthen students' understanding of Adverse Drug Reactions and their reporting.

    ·       To provide practical exposure to pharmacovigilance software and digital safety-reporting tools.

    ·       To promote the principles of rational and safe use of medicines.

    ·       To develop analytical, clinical reasoning, communication, and problem-solving skills among students.

    ·       To familiarize students with the role of technology in ADR documentation, case processing, and safety monitoring.

    ·       To encourage active student participation in pharmacovigilance-related academic activities.

    ·       To provide students with opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge, creativity, and practical skills.
