Overview
The Sociology field visit is designed to provide UG and PG students with experiential and field-based learning opportunities by connecting classroom concepts with real-life social settings. The visit enables students to observe and understand social institutions, community life, social relationships, cultural practices, patterns of inequality, and processes of social change through direct interaction and systematic observation. UG students will focus on developing basic skills of social observation, interaction, data collection, and documentation, while PG students will engage more critically with sociological concepts, research methods, fieldwork techniques, and analysis of social issues. The field visit will encourage students to apply sociological theories and concepts to real-world situations and develop skills in qualitative enquiry, report writing, reflection, and evidence-based interpretation.

Objectives of Event
- To connect classroom learning with real-life social situations by applying sociological concepts, theories, and perspectives to field-based experiences.
- To develop fieldwork and research skills among students through observation, interaction, interviews, data collection, documentation, and basic qualitative analysis.
- To understand social institutions, communities, cultures, and social issues by directly observing patterns of social interaction, inequality, change, and community life.
- To promote critical and reflective thinking by encouraging students to analyze field experiences sociologically and develop evidence-based interpretations and field reports.
