Overview

CMIE has proposed a focused, hands-on training programme on its Prowess Web IP Database for the students and research scholars of Sharda School of Business Studies. The proposed workshop will bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge of financial research and the practical skills required to obtain research-ready corporate financial data.

Objectives of Event

• To familiarise participants with the CMIE Prowess Web IP Database and its corporate financial data environment.
• To develop practical skills in searching, filtering and extracting company-level financial information.
• To enable MBA (Finance) students to obtain credible secondary data for dissertations, RBL activities, projects, case studies and financial analysis.
• To enable Ph.D. scholars to identify and compile longitudinal/panel datasets suitable for empirical research.
• To demonstrate the use of financial statements, ratios, ownership/shareholding information, segment information and other relevant corporate variables in research design.
• To reduce the time and effort involved in manual collection and compilation of secondary financial data.
• To promote data-driven, evidence-based research and improve the quality and reproducibility of student and doctoral research.
