Overview

World Heart Day is observed every year on 29th September to raise global awareness about cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and promote heart health and well-being. Initiated by the World Heart Federation (WHF), the day aims to educate individuals and communities about preventing heart diseases through healthy lifestyle practices, regular health check-ups, and timely medical care.

The theme for World Heart Day 2026 is “Don’t Miss a Beat.” The theme emphasizes the importance of recognizing warning signs of cardiovascular disease and taking timely action. It encourages early detection, preventive care, physical activity, healthy nutrition, stress management, and avoidance of tobacco and other harmful habits.

As part of the World Heart Day 2026 celebration, we are organizing to organize an engaging Heart Health Awareness Programme based on the theme “Don’t Miss a Beat.” The event will include a creative Heart Day Photo Booth and interactive fitness activities to encourage participants to celebrate, move, and learn about the importance of maintaining a healthy heart. Nursing students will actively participate in preparing creative and informative props, including heart-shaped cut-outs, awareness slogans, placards, and photo booth accessories to promote heart health awareness and encourage healthy lifestyle practices. The programme aims to foster student creativity, active participation, and awareness about cardiovascular health through fun, educational, and interactive activities.
