Overview

Sharda School of Nursing Science and Research, Sharda University, is organizing a community outreach initiative. The initiative aims to assess the burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases and evaluate healthcare accessibility among Economically Weaker Section (EWS) households in Bisahda, Piyawali Tajpur, and Bambawad, Greater Noida. Recognizing that disease burden and access to healthcare services are often disproportionately concentrated among economically weaker sections, this initiative seeks to bridge existing gaps through evidence-based community engagement.

Through a structured door-to-door household survey, the camp will systematically collect data on disease prevalence, existing health-seeking behavior, and living conditions within these underserved households. This baseline evidence will help identify patterns of morbidity, gaps in healthcare access, and social determinants of health, thereby informing the design of targeted, equity-driven health interventions in the future. The initiative also provides valuable field-based learning and research exposure to nursing students and faculty involved in data collection and community interaction.

Objectives of Event

•To conduct a household door-to-door survey among EWS households to gather baseline health data, promoting inclusive access in line with SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities)

•To estimate the prevalence rate of communicable and non-communicable diseases among EWS households, contributing to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being)

•To evaluate the standard of living patterns and socio-economic determinants of health among EWS households, supporting SDG 1 (No Poverty)

•To assess existing healthcare-seeking behavior and identify barriers to accessing health services among EWS households, furthering SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being)

•To create awareness among EWS households on preventive health practices and available government health schemes, in line with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being)
