Overview
The School of Pharmacy, Sharda University is organizing World Pharmacists Day 2026 on 25th September 2026 under the theme “Empowering Pharmacists for Healthier Futures.”
The programme aims to highlight the evolving role of pharmacists in promoting patient care, public health, medication safety, antimicrobial stewardship, preventive healthcare, innovation, and healthier communities. The event will provide students with an opportunity to understand and demonstrate how pharmacists can contribute meaningfully to the healthcare system.
The programme will include a Pharmacist Awareness Rally, Tree Plantation Drive, Guest Lecture on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), Health Camp, Pharmacy Idea Hackathon, and Pharma Quiz.
A special focus will be given to the Pharmacy Idea Hackathon, where students will identify real-world pharmacy and healthcare problems and develop innovative, practical solutions demonstrating the role of pharmacists in creating healthier futures. Selected promising ideas may be taken forward through the University's IIC/IIKEC innovation ecosystem, with opportunities for further development, academic and industry mentorship, and exploration of suitable funding support.
Through these activities, the event seeks to empower future pharmacists with awareness, creativity, problem-solving skills, social responsibility, and an innovation-oriented mindset, while celebrating the important contribution of pharmacists towards healthier individuals and communities.
Objectives of Event
- To create awareness about the evolving role of pharmacists in promoting healthier individuals, communities, and healthcare systems.
- To empower pharmacy students with knowledge, problem-solving skills, confidence, and an innovation-oriented mindset aligned with the theme “Empowering Pharmacists for Healthier Futures.”
- To promote awareness about Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and highlight the role of pharmacists in responsible antimicrobial use and antimicrobial stewardship.
- To encourage community health and environmental responsibility through health camp, health awareness, tree plantation, and outreach activities.
- To foster innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among students by encouraging them to identify real-world pharmacy and healthcare problems and develop practical solutions.
- To facilitate collaboration and mentorship among students, faculty, healthcare professionals, academia, and industry, enabling promising student innovations to be explored further through the University's innovation and incubation ecosystem.
