Overview

Juvenile Justice Wing of the Legal Aid Society, Sharda School of Law, Sharda University, is organizing a Month-Long Theatre Festival in the (government) Juvenile Observation Home (for boys), Gautam Buddha Nagar, featuring a Skit Presentation and Theatre Workshop, followed by a Theatrical Face-Off amongst the various groups composed of the juvenile delinquents residing at the said home. This festival shall be celebrated on diverse dates within the month of September, 2026, commencing on Thursday, September 17th, 2026. It will be led by the final year students of BA LL.B (H.) and BBA LL.B (H.).

The initiative seeks to use theatre as a medium of creative expression, confidence-building, social engagement and peer bonding, thereby creating an interactive and conducive environment for the delinquents.

Objectives of Event

  • To encourage self-expression, confidence, creativity, communication, and positive social interaction amongst juveniles through theatre-based activities.
  • To build certain crucial emotional and cognitive skills.
  • To inculcate team work and collaboration amongst the delinquents.  
  • To foster empathy and practical understanding of the juvenile justice system amongst the law students through such real-life exposure and experiences.
  • To strengthen collaboration between the Schools’s Legal Aid Society and the institution of Juvenile Observation Home in promoting the welfare and rehabilitation of these delinquents.
